Solo Creation Festival
What is it?
Solo Creation Festival (SCF) exists to support the creation of new and innovative solo works in all stages of development. The festival takes place over the course of three weeks. Each week, a new program of solo works will be presented. Works selected, each receiving four performances, will be part of a 90-120 minute program that is comprised of a variety of solo artists. Each of the three programs will be presented Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 5pm.
SCF is presented each year in the Spring or Summer and provides an opportunity for bold solo artists to present works of all kinds, be it monologue, movement or design-focused work. The goal of the festival is to explore the many ways that solo performance can exist by bringing a diverse range of solo work together. If you’re looking for a platform to present your solo piece, apply to SCF.
Past participants
SCF has supported over nine solo artists each year since it began in 2014. Most of the artists that apply are local, but not all. Here are some of our past participants: R. Ernie Silva, Mike Schlitt, Abby Schachner, Ryan Vincent Anderson, Lisa Dring, Suzan Averitt, Kelsey Siepser and Chambers Stevens.
