The Tower

Inspired by the biblical tale of the Tower of Babel, The Tower weaves together music, dance and drama to tell the story of one woman�s quest to find inner peace. Having lost her ability to speak, Ruth must undergo a radical operation. While fighting for her life on the operating table, the mayhem of her visions and the sporadic babel of her doctors fuel nightmares of hellish imprisonment on Earth. Ruth dreams that she is secretly rebuilding the ancient Tower of Babel in an attempt to climb to heaven and, therefore, transcend the troubles of the world. The play explores the perils of our search for enlightenment, global cohesion, cross-cultural communication and spiritual peace.
