Natalie Hall

Actor

Natalie was born in Hawaii and raised all over the US due to having parents in the airline industry. She began performing and training in earnest at the age of 8 in Carmel, California, where she participated in the program at the Children's Experimental Theatre. Natalie continued to perform and study in regional and community theatres in Boston and Hawaii, most notably with the progressive Honolulu Theatre for Youth.

While in high school at Santa Catalina School for Girls, Natalie had the distinction of playing men in 10 out of 12 productions. Favorites include Peter Pan in Peter Pan, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing…, Fagin in Oliver! and Evillene in The Wiz. She sang with the student-run a capella group ecco!, and in her last two years, led the group and arranged the music. She also studied acting at the California State Summer School for the Arts at CalArts in 1999, and at the Carnegie Mellon Pre-College Program in 2000. In her last two years of high school, Natalie trained with the Performing Arts Conservatory of Carmel, focusing on physical theatre, Grotowski, and Viewpoints, and played Desdemona in their production of Othello.

While earning her BFA in Acting in the Experimental Theatre Wing of NYU. Natalie also pursued her other love, literature, obtaining a minor in English and American Lit. During her last two years at ETW, Natalie focused on singing, studying with the critically acclaimed jazz singer, Lisa Sokolov. In her Senior year, Natalie went to London and earned a Certificate in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she played Bertram in All's Well That Ends Well, in an eerie repeat of her high school career. While in London, she also studied Shakespeare at the Institute of Contemporary Arts.

After NYU, Natalie moved to LA where she has been performing with various theatre companies, including a run of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)at the ARK. Natalie is fairly new to SOSE, and just recently performed in Suzan-Lori Park's 365 Days / 365 Plays.

Natalie has taught master classes in Shakespeare, Viewpoints, post-modern dance, and leadership. She also currently works as an SAT Verbal tutor for Ivywest. Natalie intends to eventually pursue a graduate degree in Dramaturgy or Literature, and to one day win the MacArthur Genius Grant.
