As Edgar said, SOSE went on retreat this weekend (in the middle of tech, no less!). What he didn't mention was that chaos ensued:
Okay, that was actually our reenactment of chaos. Most of the retreat was blissfully quiet, though we did spend an hour on Saturday afternoon weathering (literally) a wind storm that (luckily) decided to not dump rain on us. All next to beautiful Lake Perris, which is lovely by the water and blisteringly hot everywhere else. Click on that picture to see some more photos of us making a yoga video, Shar eyeing a bottle of vodka suspiciously, and Barbara and I as zombies.
If you look at the pictures, it appears that we did everything but discuss serious matters related to the production of innovative theater (unless you count our storm-reenactment as "theater"), but we actually got a lot done, and discussed the future of the company in very revealing ways. Sitting and talking is less photogenic, though, so enjoy the more picturesque portions of our weekend.
(If you were at the retreat and want to add your photos to the pool, just upload them to Flickr and tag them "soseretreat05" and share the love.)

Taking the time out of our crazy lives to connect with each other in dessert heat was well worth the sacrafice. I actually got to have real conversations with people about them. Who they are. I got to tell them who I am. Sure, we got some company stuff accomplished, but beyond that I now feel like I have some friends in the company rather then working along side a strangers with a common interest. It's a nice feeling. I look forward to the opportunity to be able to do a lot more of that. I of all people know how hard it is to set aside the time to do something like this. I got obligations coming out of my hooo haaa! It's a miracle to grab coffe with a friend let alone free up an entire weekend. I just want to state the value in trying. It will only make us a stronger ensemble. I'd love to see all of the company make it next year. Even if it's just one day.
Also, my dog Pearl looooooooooved it!!!
Seriously she is still reeling from all the attention she got. I know she thanks everyone for loving her.
