Dinosaurs + Garden of Eden = G-O-D

This might be the dumbest sh*t I've ever read. Period. Dinosaurs on the Ark? Sure! Who didn't know that! Remeber it was BIG. I have no issues with the G-O-D or indiviuals personal relationships with the G-O-D. Whatever gets you through the day, keeps a smile on your face and doesn't encourage the random and sudden exploding of any person, place or thing(self included). But...well I can't say it any better than the indivdiuals themselves. So here is a little excerpt on how dinosaurs are being encompassed into creationism all across the ole US o' A! If you'd like to read more a link for the article awaits you at the end. But the end of what?
________________________________________________________________________________
"It will be an attraction to have (dinosaurs) and share the story that, from our position and opinion, dinosaurs did not live 65 million years ago," he said, referring to many creationists' belief in a biblical Earth age of less than 10,000 years.

It is important to many creationists that man and dinosaur lived simultaneously because they believe there was no death in the world until Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. If the Genesis story is false, they say, then there would be no need for Jesus Christ to redeem the sins of the world.

Thus, at the Museum of Earth History, Genesis dictates gentle, vegetarian dinosaurs sharing Eden with Adam and Eve, whose vaguely Polynesian appearance represents all races, according to a guide. Another exhibit confirms that dinosaurs, like all land creatures created on Day 6, were on Noah's Ark. The exhibit maintains that the ark could accommodate them because it was huge--450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high--and only smaller, adolescent dinosaurs were put on board.

Such literal interpretation is essential, Sharp said, because "if we lose Genesis as a legitimate scientific and historical explanation for man, then we lose the validity of Christianity. Period."

I agree that this is just silly. I can just see it... soon there will be Sunday school drawings that show Noah sifting through all the dinos and selecting the smallest ones for the journey so the arc wouldn't sink.

It seems to me that every time someone points out a new contradiction between Genesis and science, that the evangelicals quickly make up a story or justification for keeping the course. This is yet another quick justification for not losing faith in the old stories of Genesis. It makes me so mad!

I wonder if Adam and Eve were friends with the dinos in the Garden of Eden. They must have been -- because wouldn't the dinos have eaten Adam and Eve if they weren't friends. Maybe they even got to pet the dinos too!

Let's take it further... storytelling is fun....

Perhaps all dinos were vegetarians before Adam and Eve ate the apple. Then... once they ate the apple, many of the dinos decided to eat flesh. It was God's punishment. "Adam and Eve ate the apple... therefore,... the dinos must eat Adam and Eve."

Ooooo, let's twist that story even more.

Maybe the dinos started to hunt Adam and Eve. Thus... man was afraid of dinos and thus ... Jurassic Park could be made for all of us to enjoy. See.... you can even create a connection between Genesis and Steven Spielberg!

This is just a pile of dinosaur shit! It baffles me to read about FundaMENTAList christians twisting established science (and, yes, I know all scientific theories are only valid until they are proven false) to suit the needs of their beliefs. It's like trying to fit the square peg into the round hole. Carbon dating clearly establishes that dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. Even if "man" existed that long ago there is an abundance of evidence that indicates they would not have resembled in any way a Fundamentalist christian image of adam and eve (blond, blue-eyed). It makes me laugh to read about the musuem diorama depicting dinosaurs and POLYNESIAN-looking humans in a lame attempt to be inclusive of all races. HEY! We come from monkeys and our origins are in Africa! Get over it!And, yes, there is still much debate about the origins of man BUT there is at least strong evidence supporting evolution and darwinism. I would like to see the evidence supporting dinosaurs (vegetarian dinosaurs, no less) living in perfect harmony with Adam and Eve!
