PostSecret, my favorite internet art project of the moment, is being turned into a music/theater piece by Melbourne-based Sasha Stella. PostSecret is a constantly updated collection of secrets which people write/draw/paint/etc onto postcards and anonymously mail to the site for public posting.
The House Theatre of Chicago has started podcasting! For their upcoming production of Dave DaVinci Saves the Universe, they'll be releasing podcast interviews with the cast and production team. First up is cowriter Jake Minton. The interview is interesting, and really makes me want to see the show! Also, it was the perfect length (at 12 minutes), getting in and getting out with just enough to leave me wanting to know more. It'd be cool to hear some sound clips of the show, too, or a group interview, so we could hear the interactions between writers, director, designers, actors, etc. I'm glad there are other theater geeks out there...!
And on a non-internet note, Anonymouse Theatre sounds like a lot of fun, and a great leap forward in those one-night-only shows that so many theater companies are fond of. None of the actors have met before the performance, and they enter the theater in street clothes and sit amongst the audience until it's time for their first line. I'm guessing all of the blocking is improvised. though the lines are not. There was even a kiss, which I can only imagine was thrilling for both the audience and the actors. It sounds like great fun, and I wish I could have been there. [via Hot Toddy's Toaster Oven, who was in the show]
UPDATE:
In an email, Toddy says:
We each met with the director once. I talked to him for about 15 minutes and asked a couple questions about props, but other than that we rehearsed on our own.

Another theater company is podcasting!!? I can't believe another company is more internet-progressive than us. Hmmm... considering you need a portable mp3 player to enjoy podcasting, and not all of our audience is even on the internet... I wonder how long it will be before we can join those ranks. As it stands, I believe only 2 or 3 of our 31 members/associates even own iPods/mp3 players. Maybe we could add those to our company wishlist and we could get Apple or an Apple competitor to donate them as a SOSE sponsor!

PostSecret is a wonderful site! All of those postcards are so beautiful and moving to read. It reminds me of the "Questions" we all secretly placed in a sealed envelope on the firt night of our SOSE Family Lab Workshop this past January. We have yet to delve into those very private fears each of us anonymously revealed. I still have the sealed envelope. Perhaps we can develop something like this sometime in the near future using those "Questions: What do you fear most?

Actually, you don't need an iPod or MP3 player to listen to podcasts - if you're reading this website, and have speakers or headphones connected to your computer, you can listen that way, too. Or you could burn it to a CD and pop it in the car. That's the beauty of it.
Generally, you can just click and listen. For more in-depth explanations on all the ways to enjoy podcasts and make your own, see Engadget's how-to.
Not that Apple shouldn't give us free iPods anyway. :-)
And we were totally on our way to a PostSecret type thing in Family Lab. The nice thing about PS though is that it's totally anonymous, but really helps close the gap we all feel between ourselves and the rest of the world. So powerful.
