I am so very excited to be directing John's play. We did a reading of it last year in our RAPID series and we moved it into full production based on that reading (I think this is the third production to come out of RAPID including A Human Interest Story by Carlos Murillo and The Tower by Matthew Maguire). It is a quiter piece (in relation to most of SOSE's productions) and yet has a high theatrical sensibility to it. The language (as the title implies) has a musical quality to it that makes the play feel like a chamber orchestra concerto.
I know John will be involved as much as he can...but it will certainly be understandable if he can't always attend rehearsal what with his new job at South Coast Rep as Associate Artistic Director!
