SOSE is catching on

Adam S. Apr 26

It's so great to see people really start to understand the power of blogging, and what it can accomplish for SOSE.

Right after receiving his first comment (always a magic moment for new bloggers), Ray sent a message out to our internal email list - it's clear that he's had the blogging epiphany (bold is mine):

I mean, every time you go to our website, there's something NEW and DIFFERENT. And you can't say that about other theatre company's sites. ... I'm just getting a hint of what Adam Simon was mentioning when we launched the site earlier this month - that we're developing a lasting dialogue among ourselves and the audience well beyond the 2-3 productions a year. And it's much more fun than reading department reports.

He was referring to a comment, from the author of the play, a just-announced project which is almost a year away from production. It was on the website days after being decided. (And I, being a perfectionist, want to cut that down to hours.) We're at least 6 months away from a standard press release for this show, but it's already "announced" for anyone and everyone to see. Even though it won't paw the boards until early 2006, King Cat has already started it's journey as the first show to be blogged from selection to strike.

I'm just starting to get a sense of how many announcements we make every week which should be made public, and just how active this site has the potential to be.

'Paw' the boards? That's just purr-fect!
